Singapore-based studio Virtuos has opened a new office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The new space will serve as a development hub, and aims to offer new opportunities in the region via various roles and talent training.
Virtuos Kuala Lumpur soft launched in 2021, and is led by general manager Mufizal Mokhtar. It currently employs over 90 staff.
“I am pleased to return home to build Virtuos Kuala Lumpur alongside some of my closest friends and pioneers in the industry,” said Mokhtar. “We are excited to play an active part in Malaysia’s game development industry and the growth of its digital ecosystem. Thanks to the support of the Malaysian Government and our global Virtuos network, we look forward to welcoming the best talent to our multicultural team and making games better, together.”
In an ongoing effort to expand its services, Virtuos acquired Vietnamese art production outfit Glass Egg back in May, and Ukrainian art studio Volmi Games back in January. It also recently invested in Canadian games studio Umanaïa Interactive.
