Today at Unite 2025, Unity announced a multi-title development partnership with 2K Games that appears to indicate the company is expanding its external development business with major Unity users.
The partnership will kick off with Unity leading the way on a Nintendo Switch 2 port of PGA-licensed golf game PGA Tour 2K25. “By co-developing the port PGA Tour 2K25, we’re validating our technology for Nintendo Switch 2 and strengthening Unity’s multiplatform foundation, reinforcing our promise of making it easier for creators to build once and deploy everywhere.”
This is the second major Nintendo Switch 2 development project Unity’s taken point on with an external game industry partner. Earlier in the year it released the Konami-published puzzle game Survival Kids as a launch title for the new Nintendo platform.
In March, the company indicated it was ramping up co-development efforts to improve the performance of Unity 6 and Unity 6.1. CEO Mathew Bromberg and then-CTO Steve Collins pointed to Camouflaj’s Batman: Arkham Shadow and an Android port of Black Salt Games’ Dredge as key instances of its recent co-development partnerships.
