Neil Druckmann has confirmed that Naughty Dog’s Uncharted franchise is done.
In an interview with Buzzfeed, the game director and co-creator of the Last of Us TV show explained that the series reached its end.
“For us, Uncharted was insanely successful — Uncharted 4 was one of our best selling games — and we’re able to put our final brushstroke on that story and say that we’re done. We’re moving on,” Druckmann said.
During the interview, he also said that a The Last of Us part three title is possible. However, he explained that it’s contingent upon if the studio can create a compelling story for it.
“If we can’t come up with something, we have a very strong ending with Part 2, and that will be the end,” he added.
Based on the 2013 PlayStation 3 game, the HBO TV show debuted with 4.7 million viewers.
Boxed sales for the game jumped to 238% in the UK after the program’s launch.
