Very little has changed in the final UK boxed chart leading up to Christmas Day.
FIFA 23 was still No.1, with sales up 16% over the week before. This was followed by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (up 2%), then God of War: Ragnarok (down 7%), Mario Kart 8: Deluxe is still at No.4 (down 4%), Pokémon Violet holds sixth place (down 8%), and Nintendo Switch Sports is still at No.6 (sales flat).
The biggest difference in the charts is that Sonic Frontiers re-enters the Top Ten at No.7, driven by offers that has seen the game fall to below £32 at UK retail. The Nintendo Switch version was the best-selling edition of the game last week.
Another title that continues to benefit from discounting is Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, which re-enters the charts at No.9 after a 50% sales spike. The game has more then tripled in weekly sales over the last two weeks due to deals that has seen it fall to around £30.
One of Mario + Rabbids’ biggest competitors is actually its predecessor — Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle. The 2017 original has been a mainstay in the Top 20 over the last few months, this is due to the game being sold for under £15. This week the Ubisoft title is at No.15.
In terms of recent releases, The Callisto Protocol drops out of the Top 20 to No.22 after a 25% sales fall week-on-week. Need for Speed: Unbound holds No.28 position after a 4% sales increase. Meanwhile, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion plummets 22 places to No.30 due to a 76% sales decline in its second week.
